Why it exists

Music production constantly crosses between sound and mathematics: tempo becomes milliseconds, notes become frequencies, rhythms become patterns and harmony becomes a map. Amanita Calculator keeps those small but recurring jobs in one calm workspace.

The aim is not to make musical decisions for you. It is to make the exact values visible quickly, then get out of the way so you can return to listening.

One shared musical context

The seven tools cover tempo conversion, Euclidean rhythm, reverb and delay timing, note frequency, N-TET temperament, the harmonic series and the circle of fifths.

Tempo and tuning values are shared across the relevant tools and saved locally, so moving from a rhythmic idea to a spatial or harmonic one does not mean entering the same information again.

Built around a few principles

  • Useful before impressive: calculations and musical relationships come first.
  • Quiet by default: no account, social feed, advertising or artificial urgency.
  • Local where possible: the calculator works offline and keeps its settings on your device.
  • Available everywhere: use the Web App or download a desktop build for macOS, Windows or Linux.

An Amanita Music project

Amanita Calculator is an independent project from Amanita Music, shaped around the everyday needs of producers, composers and sound designers.

The application is free to use. Voluntary support helps cover hosting, testing and the unglamorous work of keeping desktop builds available.
